Three steps, and then our team in San José does the rest. This is what happens between the form and your first dawn in the field.

The three steps

1. Tell us your list.

The form takes a few minutes. Dates if you have them, how many of you, what you most want to see, and how hard you want to work for it. If you would rather talk, call: Juan and the team in San José answer the phone in English.

2. We build it by hand.

One of our Costa Rica specialists comes back with a first itinerary: the zones in the right order, the lodges, the guides, the drive times as they really are. That first version is just a place to start, and we revise it with you until it is exactly right.

3. You travel, we hold it.

One of our people meets you at the airport with your welcome package and documents. A private driver moves you between zones on your schedule, which for birders usually means early. Our reservations team holds every booking, and our concierge desk in San José is on call 24/7 while you are in the country.

Every trip is a custom quote. Hotels, private transfers, guided birding tours and the airport welcome are built into one price for the trip.

What every trip includes

  • A greeter at arrivals. One of our team outside the airport with your welcome pack and documents.
  • Private transfers. A modern air-conditioned van and a Costa Rican driver for every leg, on your schedule, early included.
  • 24/7 team in Costa Rica. Our concierge desk in San José, reachable day and night for the whole trip.
  • Tours we have tested. Guides and operators our team works with year after year, booked for your days.
  • A local birding guide. For the mornings that matter, the person who birds that place every week.

Questions travellers ask

Are international flights included?

No. We build everything from landing at San José or Liberia to check-in for the flight home: the greeter, the lodges, the private transfers, the guided birding, the one domestic flight on the Nicoya trip. You book the flights in and out, and we say which airport suits your route.

Can we change a route?

Yes, and most people do. Add a night where the bird has not shown, drop a stop, swap a lodge, finish on a beach.

How far ahead should we book?

The birding lodges are small, so for the dry months and for Christmas, New Year and Semana Santa (21 to 28 March 2027) the sooner the better. Four to six months ahead is comfortable for most dates; earlier for the busy weeks is the smartest thing you can do.

Do you run group tours with fixed dates?

No. Every trip is private, for your party only, on the day you choose. If you lead a group of your own, we build around the group.

Tell us what you want to see. We will build the trip around it.

A few minutes on the form, and one of our Costa Rica specialists comes back to you personally with a first itinerary. No fixed dates, no bus, no obligation.
